I remember having "that" conversation with my parents... It was drilled into me that being an Artist was not an option. After all, how was I going to make a living in Art? So after obtaining a B.S.in Biology, and a law degree, and a couple of decades of working for a living , it took surviving Stage 3A Triple Negative Breast Cancer, the desire to live to see my son grow up and a deepening relationship with my Lord, to recognize who I am.
I am an artist. I can no more change who I am than I can change my skin. I don't want to just work for a living, I want to be excited about what I do. I want to live to work! Life is too short, too full of pain and ugly things... I want to paint, to create, to inspire, to provoke, and to bring comfort and peace.
Blessings!
